Ultra Electronics PMES has been a UK leader in the supply of high quality dc power systems for traction applications for over 50 years. Previously marketed under the ‘Foster’ and ‘THORN EMI’ brand names, equipment has been supplied to Network Rail (formerly Railtrack), London Underground and many overseas transit authorities.

Signature Management Systems
Signature Management Systems is a leading supplier of multi-influence underwater fixed and portable signature measurement range systems, onboard systems and magnetic and electric sensors. Multi-influence systems include magnetic, electric, ELFE, acoustic, seismic and pressure influences.

We have a new product range of helicopter systems including Helitrack.

Research
The Research Department has been developing innovative solutions in the arena of electromagnetics for over 15 years . From the start the research group has been closely involved in sensor and range product development from initial concept through to design, implementation and support. Ultra Magnetics are world leaders in vessel signature modelling and prediction. Magnetic dipole modelling algorithms were first developed in 1984, followed by complementary work in the field of vessel design using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in 1989.

PMES Relocation to a new site
Ultra Electronics PMES moved to a brand new site in February 2009. The move consolidated all our operations into a purpose built facility which is only a short distance from our original site in Rugeley.
